Originally, Rehoboth Beach gained fame for being an amazing beach destination, and it became known as the “Nation’s Summer Capital.” However, in recent years, the town has grown to become a year-round vacation destination. Discover what makes this part of Delaware so special and visit Rehoboth Beach and boardwalk!

Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk Fun

The most famous landmark in the town of Rehoboth Beach is its boardwalk. This one mile stretch of boardwalk is one of the best in America, as named by National Geographic Magazine, American Profile Magazine, Coastal Living Magazine, and more! Between the eclectic collection of shops, which are all tax-free, and the locally owned restaurants, you will certainly be entertained for hours. You can also bike, jog, or hike along nearby trails. A strict no smoking policy on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk makes this a pleasant attraction for people of all ages. On the boardwalk, you’ll find classic fun such as an arcade and classic food stands serving up ice cream, funnel cake, and more!

Beach Activities

Rehoboth Beach, and neighboring Dewey Beach, offer warm, sandy beaches and great surf to do almost anything you could want to in the water! Sunbathers and casual swimmers love the safer, shallower areas in the water. However, there are also plenty of opportunities for kayaking, boating, parasailing, and even surfing! Those who truly love nature will want to visit one of the many State Parks or take a nature cruise to get out and enjoy the unspoiled nature of the area.

Although the beach may be your primary destination, the fun events all year long will keep you coming back to Rehoboth Beach! In the summer, there is a weekend summer concert series at the bandstand that is great for those who love live music. Nearly every week there is also an athletic event of some sort, such as a 5K fun run or a triathlon on the beach. And of course, there are fireworks on the Fourth of July! In the fall, enjoy the sidewalk sale with local vendors, the sandcastle competition, or the Annual Sea Witch Festival filled with costumes and a parade!

Rehoboth Beach and boardwalk may be known as a summer paradise, but discover what all the year-round fun it has to offer!

The beautiful beaches of Delaware bring people from all over to enjoy the shores, and one of the best places to soak up the sun is in Delaware Seashore State Park! This 2825-acre seashore state park offers plenty of opportunities for fun, both in the sea and along its shores. First established as a state park in 1965, it now hosts millions of visitors each year. Whether you are looking for fun in the sun, sand, or sea, Delaware Seashore State Park is a must visit!

Camping at Delaware Seashore

One of those most popular activities in Delaware Seashore State Park is camping. The campgrounds here can accommodate any type of camper, from those who enjoy tent sleeping all the way up to large RV units. April through November is the prime camping season and full-service camping is available, which includes water, electric, sewer, and showers. December through March is the slow season for camping, and only electric and sewer hookups are available. Full hookups are only available on certain sites, so be sure to book in advance if you need these amenities. Regardless of season, there is a fee in order to camp here, but there is no better way to enjoy the beauty of the Delaware Seashore State Park!

Swimming and Sunbathing

Many visitors enjoy simply sunbathing along the shore or swimming in the waters here. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, lifeguards patrol the beach between 9am and 5pm each day. The swimming areas feature changing rooms and modern bathhouses with showers. Umbrellas, chairs, and rafts are available for rent along the beach as well. There is also wheelchair and powerchair access to the beach located next to the boardwalk, so everyone can enjoy the beautiful beaches here!

Surfing and Sailboating

Believe it or not, the Delaware shores offer great waves for surfing! The beach located just north of the inlet is one of the only spots in the whole state that is designated for surfers. Due to the shallow bay here, this has also become a great spot for sailboating and windsurfing. For those that aren’t quite that adventurous, the shores offer great viewing for these exciting sports.

Other Activities

There are endless activities in Delaware Seashore State Park. You can also enjoy fishing, clamming, crabbing, picnicking, boating, and so much more. The full-service amenities available will make it so you won’t want to leave!
