All year long, there are many reasons to visit Rehoboth, though when you decide to plan your stay here may depend on what kind of experience you’re looking for. With this in mind, we’ve put together a brief guide on the best seasons for you to visit Rehoboth beach. Read on below to learn more!
Rehoboth’s Greatest Vacation Seasons
Summer is Rehoboth’s most popular season, and for a good reason. From May through August, the temperatures are idyllic, usually remaining in the mid- to upper 80s. This is when the crowds come to play along the Delaware seashore, with seasonal attractions in and around Rehoboth Beach in full-swing. Between Rehoboth’s hottest days, you may encounter a stray rain shower or two. This is also when vacation rental rates are at their highest, though you might say you get what you pay for. If you decide to visit Rehoboth during the summer, you’ll still want to bring layers, as nighttime temperatures can get into the low 70s and upper 60s.
Post-Labor Day weekend, the crowds begin to thin out and the region settles into lovely fall temperatures, often staying between the upper 50s to upper 70s. This is the time to capitalize on lower rates on vacation rentals, though some of the most famous attractions in the area, such as Jungle Jim’s and Funland, close or reduce their hours outside of the summer season. However, fall in Rehoboth means that there are more events planned, and visitors can still soak up the immense array of outdoor activities that the area has to offer.
Winters in Rehoboth are mild compared to those experienced by the state’s northern neighbors. Temperatures drop to the low 30s, and it’s not uncommon to see snow during January and February. There are still activities and events to enjoy, especially in time for the holiday season, but the boardwalk and summertime attractions tend to close until the weather warms up again.
If you want that summertime atmosphere with fewer crowds, try picking one of the shoulder seasons just before or after summer—particularly after summer, if you want to see all of the attractions before they close while experiencing better service throughout town from the temporary workers who were hired for the summer.
