A Rehoboth-Area Institution in the Culinary Scene
Woody’s Bar and Grill has a cozy, tavern-like setting that inspires us to treat ourselves to a delicious meal and a strong drink.
The restaurant is open all year long, with daily hours from 11:00am to 1:00am. They also have a late menu that keeps going long after other kitchens have closed down for the night, making Woody’s Bar and Grill a fantastic choice for a meal or a snack after living it up on Dewey Beach’s nightlife scene of bars and clubs—the most lively nightlife you’ll find in Rehoboth Beach.
The menu is surprisingly extensive at Woody’s. Appetizers include everything from classic mozzarella sticks and nachos to spicy fried green beans, mac and cheese bites, seared ahi tuna, firecracker shrimp, and a variety of crab dip-topped items, including pretzels, tater tots, and sliders.
Raw bar dishes range from little neck clams and mussels to peel and eat steamed shrimp by the pound or half-pound. Woody’s Dewey Beach Restaurant has something for everyone!
However, the bulk of the menu consists of sandwiches. Surf and turf mingle freely in this section, with options ranging from pit beef and Philly cheesesteaks to turkey Reubens, shrimp BLTs, pulled pork sandwiches, jumbo lump crab cake sandwiches, and the McDonough, which marries Cajun flavors with Asian influences of seared ahi tuna, seaweed salad, and wasabi mayonnaise.
Other entrées do not disappoint. Crab cake platters, breaded fried shrimp, bourbon barbeque salmon, sesame-crusted tuna, and New York strip steak will all leave you full and satisfied.
Soup and salad choices are basic, but solid. Try the raspberry walnut salad or the gazpacho topped with jumbo lump crab meat. Personal-sized ten-inch pizzas are also offered.
A word of note: you may want to have a game plan for who’s going to pay when you come here, as the restaurant charges extra for splitting checks.
