More Festive Things to Do in Rehoboth Beach This Season
With the cool temperatures of the Northeast and the beachside vibe, Rehoboth Beach is a totally unique place to celebrate the Christmas season! That said, we have plenty of traditions that’ll fill you with the Christmas spirit!
Tree Lightings: Rehoboth Beach AND Dewey Beach!
Heralding the close of the Thanksgiving season and the official beginning of the Christmas season, a classic tree-lighting ceremony is sure to kindle your holiday spirit! And for people who can’t get enough of Christmas, the Rehoboth area features two such ceremonies to kick off the month-long march to Christmas. Rehoboth Beach will light their tree on Friday, November 24th—this ceremony starts with a traditional sing-along at 6:30, followed by the lighting at 7. The next day you can jaunt to Dewey Beach for their holiday tree lighting at Fifer’s Orchards market! Come watch the city’s illuminate this year’s chosen tree, and feel the warmth of the season fill you as the lights fill the night!
2017 Hometown Christmas Parade
On Tuesday, December 5th, Rehoboth Beach is holding its annual Christmas Parade. A Christmas parade brings out the best in people’s holiday cheer—but with prizes and trophies up for grabs, it brings out the best in their creativity, too! Some come to applaud their favorite float or costumes, some come for the refreshments, and others come simply to see Santa Claus. If any of this sounds good to you, then mark your calendar for Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m.!
Winter Wonderfest: Christmas Village!
Delaware’s Winter Wonderfest is back, setting up at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal Grounds each weekend from November 17th to New Year’s Eve. Tickets are super affordable, at just $5 for 5 tickets—and Family Fun Pack prices offering 60 tickets for $40! This annual event is great for adding excitement to the Christmas season, with carnival rides, midway games, and an ice rink!
Winter Wonderfest’s Light Spectacular
Over at Cape Henlopen State Park, the Wonderfest shows off its true colors—a mile and a half of them! The light spectacular includes a ride through the park’s 90 stunning displays. This year, there are 30% more lights, making it the brightest spectacular yet!
